  Hello class, my name is Eli Gauldin, and I am currently a Junior at High Point University studying Strategic Communication with a minor in Marketing. My brother attended here along with my grandparents living 15 minutes away from campus, so I was able to make a decision to choose HPU for my college. If I had to choose three adjectives to describe myself as laid-back, thoughtful, and determined. I am born and raised in North Carolina, as I was born in Greensboro while growing up on the coast in a small seaside town called Southport. I enjoyed growing up there since I could go to the beach, however it did have some downsides. The population is very small consisting of mainly retired elderly people. In the winters, there is not much open so that limits doing activities around the area. Obviously, hurricanes and tropical storms have affected our area the past few years, destroying plenty of houses and beach front dunes.
